Everyone is expected to go on the hike tomorrow unless your name is on the hike exception list because of a legitimate medical reason.
For safety reasons, each team must stay together throughout the entire time of the hike. All team members must remain within sight of their serving ones and team leader at all times. Joining another team is NOT permitted. Splitting up or leaving your team will be considered a serious violation of the conference rules.
Make sure your team checks in at every checkpoint during the hike. Arriving at a checkpoint without all team members will result in penalty points for the entire team.
If a team member goes missing or becomes separated from the team, the rest of the team must continue to the next checkpoint to check whether the missing person is there. Be sure to inform the serving ones at the checkpoint about the missing team member.
If members of another team join your team, continue to the next checkpoint and inform the serving ones there how many people have joined your team. Those other team members must remain at the checkpoint and wait for their own team.
If you get lost go back to the last known checkpoint.
Shopping or buying souvenirs during the hike is forbidden.
Rise tomorrow is at 7:30am. Breakfast will be served at 7:45am. Please be on time, especially if you are on the first buses to leave for the hike.
Sack lunches and water will be provided by your hosts. Please remember to take it with you on the hike. Everyone should pick up a sack lunch for the day, regardless of whether you are going on the hike or not.
Make sure you wear proper and comfortable hiking or sport shoes. Tomorrow’s forecast is sunny. Please remember to take and wear sunscreen and caps or hats. Remember to drink water regularly to stay hydrated. It is recommended to bring a rain jacket, just in case. Take your medications with you, if needed!
Stay on marked trails only. For safety reasons, do not linger near the edges and ridges and do not overtake others on narrow parts of the trails. Be careful – there may still be muddy and slippery parts on the trails.
Team leaders, make sure you bring your team’s first aid kit and the packet you have received at the registration (map, team number sign and instruction) on the hike.
Everyone is encouraged to take their outlines with them in order to memorize verses during the hike.
Please do not wear this year’s conference T-Shirt or lanyard on the hike.
There will be free toilet stations on ****the hike. Please note that water and soap may not be available, so we recommend bringing wet wipes or hand sanitizer.
Tomorrow morning, all teams should gather for the hike at the Senior Tent (T6). Please keep your team number sign clearly visible so your team members can find you quickly. Include any additional members who have joined your team in your team's total headcount. Once your entire team is present and ready to depart, inform one of the hike serving ones inside or near the tent. Then proceed to the bus stop behind the first bridge, at the bottom of the village, near the Senior Tent (you will need to pass House 24A).
Team gathering times:
Please do not report to the hike serving ones with an incomplete team or before your assigned departure time. Doing so will result in penalty points for your entire team. Make sure to leave your house early enough to allow time for the walk.
<aside>
Young people who have been approved to stay back from the hike must report to the saints in the Junior tent (T5) at 9am. There will be some planned activities for you.
The serving ones of these young people need to escort the young people to the JR tent before queuing for the bus.
Serving ones who remain in the village are also expected to participate in taking care of the young people who remain behind. Serving ones who remain in the village still need to escort their young people to meet the rest of the team at the meeting place for the hike buses and then also report to the JR tent (T5) at 9am.
